SAFE HAVEN OF PENDER, INC - VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

DIRECT SERVICES

Serve as an advocate for victims of domestic violence and their children. This may involve crisis intervention, shelter intakes, liaison with other agencies, emotional support, information, referral, and follow-up. Necessary training required.


OFFICE ASSISTANCE

May assist with answering phones, running errands, writing 'thank-you' notes, telephoning, data entry.


CHILDREN'S ADVOCATES

Address the needs of children from violent homes. Assist with programs. Training provided. Evening children's group - Monday 6pm-8pm


TRANSPORTATION

Volunteers are needed to transport women to appointments, court, etc. Occasionally women need transportation to other counties for parenting classes, court, etc.


THRIFT SHOPPE

Shop volunteers are needs to help at the store with various duties.


COURT ADVOCACY

Available for extended periods of time during the day to support women in the court process. You will be trained on the various court procedures and forms.


FUNDRAISING

Assist with special events or participate on an event committee.
